Most of us wake up everyday... at least partially. With a little determination we can keep that fresh open to all possibilities attitude going but how often we slip back into earnest consideration of all the perceived problems of yesterday. It is hard not to do that.
A good way to help keep on the new path you first stepped on upon opening your eyes is to first think about all of the things that happened in the last few days that you are thankful for. That can help a lot. Then decide how you and what you want your today to be - not as a continuation of yesterday but as a today all by itself.

Change is the constant state of the Universe. Reality is fluid and shaped by the forces of consciousness. Consciousness is continuously evolving and learning and reaching for higher values. New stories are being written every day. We each write our own script interacting in a myriad of ways with all of the other players on this galactic stage of life. Those stories flow together weaving a complex tapestry of existence.
The focus of that story, on this small outpost in a cosmos too grand and expansive for us to truly appreciate in our human form, is us. We are the stars in the show living an adventure played out in a hospitable, diverse and abundant playground that is often referred to as Mother Earth. This water planet has given birth to us all. Most native and wisdom traditions believe the planet is a consciousness – Gaia – and that Spirits or energy forces if that is a more comfortable way of thinking about it for you, inhabit numerous places and things on the planet. Most of these Spirits are much older than us – we have the potential to be the most powerful of the energy beings living on this planet but we are still young and developing in the sophistication of our consciousness – we are just beginning to recognize our true potential as a species. The main difference between the native Spirits or energy beings of the planet and us is that we are blessed with the power of creation. Their role is maintaining the order and integrity of the planet. Our role goes beyond that – we are here to create new visions of the world.
The new millennium will begin a new age. A very respected Hawaiian Spiritual leader, Makua, in the book Bowl of Light, states concerning this next cycle of existence, “This means that we have to create a new foundation for the next cycle, and what we decide to build on this will determine the spiritual focus as well as our lifeways for much of the next several thousand years.” This is where we are now. A very significant cultural shift is now emerging.
This is the beginning of a new book that can aptly be called the Ascent of the Goddesses.
